This painting was inspired by a dream in which I entered a department store wearing my old, worn Mary Janes and discovered a pair of beautiful heels that fit me perfectly. In the dream, changing shoes felt deeply symbolic, like stepping into peace, identity, and a new season I had not yet fully embraced. I painted the scene exactly as I saw it: suspended against a deep royal blue background, almost floating between the familiar and the unknown. The discarded shoes represent what I had outgrown, while the heels became a reflection of the peace, beauty, and confidence I felt God was inviting me into.
